PROPERTY DETAILS:

ENTRANCE/LIVING AREA. As you enter the house via the original large wooden doors you are greeted with a spectacular hallway. It has newly laid terracotta tiles and, as with the rest of the house, high, wooden ceilings. There is a traditional sofa (exceptionally long), dining table and under-stairs storage. The walls, as is the theme of this house, are adorned with original art. There are two further rooms parallel to the entrance.

KITCHEN. Old meets new. A large area with all mod-cons: Dishwasher, fridge and oven are all new. Plenty of cupboard space and heaps of worksurface. The traditional stone sink remains and fitted with new taps. Old Greek kitchen paraphernalia adorns the walls. There is a window onto the street and a quirky, large window onto the hallway. Apart from the hallway, all the flooring throughout is wood. The original owner/builder of this house was a wood-merchant of some note thus the wooden features within are exceptional. Access to the basement is accessed via a trap door from the kitchen.

BASEMENT. Bone dry and home to a wealth of artifacts including amphoras and tools. Ideal storage space.

LIVING SPACE. Large windows, original fireplace, recesses and a wonderful, original plate-display dresser. BEDROOM ONE. A large room with two single beds, dressers, wardrobes and art. Light and recently decorated (as with all of the house) it has a calming, peaceful feel to it.

BEDROOM TWO. Also a large room with two single beds, built in cupboard, original shelving with hooks and windows with views on to the forest. You can hear the breeze through the trees, the chatter of birds and the trickling of the river from this room. There is an amazing hand-built cupboard. The doors throughout have been made with great craftsmanship. There is an eye for detail with everything. This house was built to last and indeed it has done more than that. It’s an example of fine workmanship and skill.

BATHROOM. Brand new and stylish. Scree walls have been skimmed then painted a silvery grey. The effect is fantastic. It’s a large space. The light fittings throughout the house are wonderful (most of them original) and the bathroom is no exception. A large, modern sink sits atop a wooden table (you just can’t have enough wood in a place) with new taps. New toilet and shower too. A large window makes it a very light space.

OUTSIDE. A door to the rear leads you to a small balcony and a most wonderful paved courtyard. Peaceful, pretty and calm, it has a Mediterranean feel to it. It’s that perfect mixture of trees (offering much needed shade) and an abundance of vibrant, colorful flowers. It’s the perfect size for entertaining and relaxing but not so big as to make it unmanageable. It’s a pretty spot indeed. Outdoor lighting and a high quality watering timing system feature.

OUTDOOR BATHROOM. Identical styling to the indoor bathroom, chic and stylish with new, high quality fittings. W.C, shower and sink. Washing plumbed in.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the piece of land adjacent to the garden is yours. Ideal as an allotment, extension of your garden or a small building (subject to permission) perhaps an office space/workshop or art studio.
